Not at all. Most people who start at Trinity Martial Arts & Self-Defence are complete beginners. Our classes are structured so children, teens and adults can learn step by step, even if they’ve never done martial arts or self-defence before. We focus on confidence, safety, clear instruction and a welcoming environment.

Comfortable gym clothing is perfect for your first visit, no special uniform needed. Bring a bottle of water and arrive a few minutes early so we can welcome you, answer any questions and explain what to expect from your first martial arts or self-defence class. We’ll take great care of you from the moment you walk in.

Most children, teens and adults start to see improvements in confidence, focus and fitness within a few weeks. Physical skills build steadily, but the biggest early changes often happen in listening, behaviour and mindset. Every student progresses at their own pace, and our instructors support them step by step.

Our full-time dojo is based in the heart of Dawley, Telford, with easy access for families across Lawley, Lightmoor, Horsehay, Doseley, Aqueduct, Stirchley and surrounding areas. We have free parking on George Street Car Park, a welcoming reception area with complimentary hot drinks and we’re easy to reach from the A442.

Trinity Martial Arts & Self Defence provides children’s martial arts for ages 5–7, and combined martial arts and self-defence training for juniors, teens and adults from our full-time centre in Dawley, Telford.
